NESTOA 2008 Conference Activities
We will be offering a variety of activities throughout the conference allowing you to explore the sights and local attractions of Newport. We hope these activities will make your stay that much more enjoyable!!

Golf at Newport National Golf Club for Conference Attendees and their Guests
Enjoy golfing at The Orchard Course at Newport National Golf Club. Nominated "Best New Course" by Golf Digest in 2003, the Orchard Course is a 7,200 yard, par 72, championship golf course built to challenge golfers of all skill levels. Built on a former nursery farm and orchard, The Orchard Course comes complete with beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Sakonnet Passage. Golf with your favorite foursome or be joined with others.
Departure time: 7:00am
Tee time: 8:00am

If you would lke to participate in the golf tournament on Sunday morning, please fill out the Golf Registration Section on the back of the Conference Registration Form and include the golf fee in with your total conference registration fee.  If you are paying for golfers in addition to yourself, please indicate the number of golfers you are paying for and write their names in the Golf Registration Section.  Golfers do not need to be attendees or guests of the conference.  A perfect way to get together with some local friends while you are in town for the conference. 

Opening Reception at Astor's Beechwood Mansion for Conference Attendees and their Guests
"Step back in time and enjoy Newport's glorious past..."  Join us for NESTOA 2008's Opening Reception to be held at Astor's Beechwood Mansion.  At the Astor's, we will step back in time to join the Astor family for the evening.  The Beechwood Theater Company will dress in period clothing to help us experience the Victorian elegance.
Starts: 6:30pm

If you plan on attending our Victorian Opening Reception, please check off the applicable boxes on the Special Activities Section on the Registration Form.  Transportation will be provided for all wishing to attend.

Tour of Newport and Mansion for Guests Only
While the conference attendees are busy in meetings, their guests will be able to enjoy a guided bus tour of Newport.  Guests will make their way around Newport viewing its historic buildings.  Guests will also travel along scenic Ocean Drive and mansion laden Bellevue Avenue.  As part of the tour, guests will visit Rosecliff where "The Great Gatsby" and "True Lies" were filmed.
Departure time: 10:00am
Return time: 1:00pm (approximate)

Guests who would like to join this tour should check off the appropriate box on the Special Activities Section of the Registration Form so that a place can be reserved for you on the tour bus. 

Dinner Cruise for Conference Attendees and their Guests
Enjoy dinner on the Majestic while cruising along the Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay.  Leaving from Bowen's Ferry Landing just a short distance from the Marriott Hotel, the Majestic will begin boarding at 6:30pm for a 7:00pm departure.  After enjoying a delightful dinner and cruising the Harbor and Bay for three hours, the Majestic will return to Bowen's Ferry Landing. 
Note: There is an additional fee of $47.00 per person for this activity.
Departure time: 7:00pm
Return time: 10:00pm

Attendees and their guests who would like to enjoy the dinner cruise should check off the applicable boxes on the Special Activities Section of the Registration Form and include the additional dinner cruise fee in with the total conference registration fee.

Monday Night Football for Conference Attendees and their Guests
As an alternative to the Dinner Cruise, NESTOA 2008 will be hosting Monday Night Football at the Brick Alley Pub.  Gather to watch the New York Jets take on the San Diego Chargers.  Located less than a five minute walk away from the Marriott Hotel, the Brick Alley Pub is a popular local pub to be enjoyed by not only football fans, but everybody!  Enjoy traditonal pub fare while watching the game on flat screen TVs or while catching up with other conference attendees and their guests.

Tour of Rough Point and the Newport Vineyard for Guests Only
While the conference attendess are once again busy in meetings, their guests will have another terrific opportunity to see more of Newport's treasures.  Beginning with a guided bus tour of Rough Point - the Newport Home of Doris Duke.  Guests will visit the oceanfront home of Doris Duke allowing you to see her collections of fine art, furnishings and antiques from around the world.  At Rough Point, you will see beautiful ocean views and landscaped grounds.  You will be able to walk around the grounds and see the "secret" flower garden.  After touring Rough Point, the bus will head to the Newport Vineyard.  While at the Vineyard, you will be able to go on a Winery Tour, enjoy wine tasting and visit the gift shop.
Departure time: 10:00am
Return time: 2:00pm (approximate)

Closing Banquet at the Marriott Hotel for Conference Attendees and their Guests
Join us in closing out NESTOA 2008 in traditional Rhode Island style!!  Being held in the Ballroom at the Marriott Hotel, the Closing Banquet will consist of a New England Clambake and entertainment by the Ocean State Follies!  This is one event that you will not want to miss!
